To know others is wisdom;

To know yourself is enlightenment

To master others requires force;

To master yourself requires true strength.

-Lao-tzu, Tao-te Ching

About Astrological Psychology:

The astrological portrait provided in this site combines astrological knowledge with the concepts of analytical psychology.

All reports are prepared personally by myself, Pelin Hattatoglu. They are not computer generated. My interpretations are taking the outward theory of what people have projected onto stars over the centuries and bringing it to inward practices. Astrology helps us realize that we are a part of a whole; it also carries us out to beyond what we call fate, guided by the light of truth in our own heart. Fate, afterall, is a symbol of our profound needs and ultimate desires.

Components of Birth Chart Analysis:

A birth chart analysis covers six major sections.

1. Pyschological Type

2. Shadows (Unwanted and ignored features)

3. Family Circle

4. Relations

5. Merging with self (or finding true self, Individuation)

6. Major Transits

Sample Birth Chart

What is a Psychological Type?

“When an inner situation is not made conscious, it appears outside as fate.” Carl Jung

Fate is not something that we encounter accidentally in our lives. It represents the life we are living under the influence of our most profound needs, inner conflicts and most passionate desires. Our whole life is shaped under the influence of our character namely, our psychological type .

Our psychological type embodies typical reactions we exert to our environment on conscious level. Nobody is perfect and everybody has weak and strong features. We fight with our problems with our strong side and generally we ignore our weak side but our inner self strive for balance and therefore time by time we stumble upon those odd conflicts that force us to improve this weak side as well.

The birth chart will bring your psychological type to thelight and show how to embrace life from a more balanced perspective. By knowing and cooperating with your conscious self you can obtain a lot of rewards immediately.

What is a Shadow?

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.” Carl Jung

You have another self within other than the self that you know how it acts, thinks, and behaves. It lies in the depths of your unconscious yet it is not fully developed and we call it the“shadow” in the analytical psychology. One of its characteristics of the shadow is to erupt into conscious in most unexpected times and places. If you haven’t still recognize it think of the last little embarrassment you felt after an unnecessary strong reaction you gave.

The birth chart will bring your shadows into your conscious. I think it is one of the most important steps of becoming a whole self.

The Family Circle:

“Nothing has a stronger influence psychologically on their environment and especially on their children than the unlived life of the parent.“ Carl Jung

Although every one of us is a distinct individual, each of us have a psychological and emotional structure that is shaped very much with our genes, family circle and our childhood memories. This psychological heritage is transferred through generations like eye color and lies in the depths of our unconscious as well. Those features are an integral part of our psyche and therefore we can find their traces in the birth chart. The birth chart clearly identifies how we perceive our parents, what is their influence on our psyche, how they support or contradict ourselves. We should never forget that our past also describes our present times as well.

Relationships:

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.“ Carl Jung

Relationships are the integral parts of our lives and we already know now nothing is an act of fate or a mere coincidence. A birth chart cannot tell us if we will have a good relationship, a happy marriage or whether we get along well with Capricorns. It tells us what kind of a personality we have and what we bring to a relationship from ourselves. When we meet with another person there forms a third energy distinct from ours or our partner’s. I’ll talk about the nature of that third entity in the composite chart.

How We Merge With Our Whole Self?

“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being. “ Carl Jung

Through the end of the birth chart analysis you will incorporate different parts of psyche and have a good sense of your dominant and inferior psychological type, persona, ego, shadow, and hopefully anima or animus and take a big step towards your whole self. Conquest of self is a life long task and this analysis will be a good help towards your integration

Major Transits

"The true nature of a human characteristic is himself" Carl Jung

I don't think you can predict what will happen to your life by looking at the stars. This is a fatalistic view of life and does not take human will into account. However, the patterns of observable objects of the universe at a particular time can lead us understand the quality of that time in the whole universe.

Human development follows particular life cycles and certain parts of human psyche wants to be acknowleged in due time. To be able to express itself, our unconscious draws itself to outer events. That outer event that made us aware is not a coincidence. Every human cycle is acknowledged by us within the limits of our conscious. We are only partly aware of our needs and conflicts therefore, our conscious determines not only our reactions to outer events but also which event we are going to encounter in the future.

The planatery patterns in this section, is therefore analysed to interpret our psychological development, inner conflicts, and awareness.
